Jean Monnet Conference “Moldova towards EU`s IPR development”
On March 31, 2022, the International Conference „Protection of Intellectual Property in the Digital Era” took place. The event took place in hybrid format and was organized by the Henri Capitant Legal Culture Association from Moldova, within the „Jean Monnet Support to Associations in European Integration and Intellectual Property Protection Studies” / EUPROIN, nr. ref. 611344-EPP-1-2019-1-MD-EPPJMO-SUPPA, implemented with the support of the Erasmus + program of the European Union, in cooperation with the State Agency for Intellectual Property (AGEPI).
The main objective of the Conference was to stimulate and strengthen the understanding and awareness of researchers in the field of development of intellectual property protection (IP); to inform and raise awareness among representatives of non-governmental organizations and civil servants about the importance of IPR development in economic integration and growth; to analyze the achievements and problems of IPR development in the EU and Moldova, etc.
The Conference was attended by representatives of public authorities, higher education institutions, research and development organizations and the business environment. During the conference, researchers from countries such as France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova presented their results.
The Plenary Session of the Conference was physically organized at the AGEPI headquarter, being opened by Ms. Rodica Crudu, coordinator of the Jean Monnet EUPROIN project, Mr. Eugeniu RUSU, General Director of the State Agency for Intellectual Property (AGEPI) – partner in the implementation of the EUPROIN project and Mr. Dorin CIMIL, Dr., President of AO Henri Capitant Republic of Moldova.

During the plenary session the Book INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW was presented. The book does represent a deliverable developed within the EUPROIN project.
In the afternoon, discussions and debates were then organized in three panels:
– Panel I: Protection of intellectual property in the digital age
– Panel II: Competition and intellectual property: interference and challenges in the digital age
– Panel III: European integration and protection of intellectual property.
The theme of the conference and the topics covered during the event were of great interest, with over 90 participants.

IPR Workshop 1 for Business and Policy Makers
On November 6, 2020, the workshop „The role of intellectual property in developing a successful business” was organized by AO of Legal Culture Henri Captain Moldova in collaboration with AGEPI, ODIMM, French Alliance and French Embassy in the Republic of Moldova
This event is an activity planned and carried out within the Jean Monnet Support to Associations project in European Integration and Intellectual Property Protection Studies / EUPROIN, implemented with the support of the Erasmus + program of the European Union.
The workshop was dedicated to the business environment and decision makers in the field of intellectual property, being also open to academia and the general public.
The objectives of the event were oriented towards:
- strengthening, understanding and awareness of the role of intellectual property development in the EU and the Republic of Moldova;
- informing and sensitizing the business environment and civil servants in Moldova about the importance of developing intellectual property in the process of European integration, but also the economic growth of Moldova in general
- awareness of the need to integrate intellectual property objects in the development strategies of enterprises, in particular;
- analysis and dissemination of achievements and challenges of intellectual property development in the EU and the Republic of Moldova;
- increasing the visibility of research conducted in the field of issues related to the protection of intellectual property, etc.
The event was opened with a welcoming message from:
• Rodica CRUDU, Dr., associate professor, project coordinator Jean Monnet EUPROIN
• Viorel IUSTIN, General Director of the State Agency for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI)
• Iulia COSTIN, Director General, Organization for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector (ODIMM)
• Alexanre Chavanne, representative of the French Alliance of Moldova
Representatives of decision makers stressed the importance of raising awareness of the role of intellectual property and the integration of intellectual property objects in business development strategies in the context of European integration and implementation of the Association Agreement of the Republic of Modlova to the European Union.
During the workshop, the experts from the EUPROIN project, the representative of the World Intellectual Property Agency (WIPO), representatives of AGEPI, etc. were invited to instruct business representatives on the impact of the Association Agreement on the regulatory framework for intellectual property protection, the procedure, cost and available strategies for intellectual property registration.

The event presented an increased interest, in the subject of protection of intellectual property in the context of implementing the association agreement of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union, from the side of the representatives of business environment and decision, being attended by the large number of participants (about 80 – 90 people).

Seminar 1 pentru business și factori de decizie în domeniul proprietății intelectuale
Atelier de lucru „Rolul proprietății intelectuale în dezvoltarea unei afaceri de succes”, 6 noiembrie 2020
În data de 6 noiembrie 2020, a fost organizat atelierul de lucru „Rolul proprietății intelectuale în dezvoltarea unei afaceri de succes”, de către AO de Cultură Juridică Henri Capitant Moldova în colaborare cu AGEPI, ODIMM, Alianța Franceză și Ambasada Franței în Republica Moldova
Aceste eveniment reprezintă o activitate planificată și realizată în cadrul proiectului Jean Monnet Support to Associations in European Integration and Intellectual Property Protection Studies / EUPROIN, implementat cu suportul programului Erasmus+ al Uniunii Europene.
Atelierul a fost dedicat mediului de afaceri și factorilor de decizie în domeniul proprietății intelectuale, fiind, totodată, deschis și mediului academic și publicului larg.
Obiectivele evenimentului au fost orientate către:
• consolidarea, înțelegerea și conștientizarea rolului dezvoltarii proprietății intelectuale în UE și R.Moldova;
• informarea și sensibilizarea mediului de afaceri și a funcționarilor publici din Moldova cu privire la importanța dezvoltării proprietății intelectuale în procesul de integrare europeană, dar și creștere economică a Moldovei în general,
• conștientizarea necesitatea integrării obiectelor de proprietate intelectuală în strategiile de dezvoltare ale întreprinderilor, în particular;
• analiza și diseminarea realizărilor și provocărilor dezvoltării proprietății intelectuale în UE și R.Moldova;
• creșterea vizibilității cercetărilor efectuate în domeniul aspectelor de legate de protecția proprietății intelectuale, etc.

Reprezentanții factorilor de decizie au subliniat importanța conștientizării rolului proprietății intelectuale și integrării obiectelor de proprietate intelectuală în strategiile de dezvoltare ale întreprinderilorîn contextual integrării europene și implementării Acordului de asociere a Republicii Modlova la Uniunea Europeană.
În cadrul atelierului, experții din cadrul proiectului EUPROIN, reprezentantul Agentiei Mondiale a Proprietății Intelectuale (WIPO), reprezentanți ai AGEPI, etc. au fost învitați să instruiască reprezentanții mediului de afaceri despre impactul angajamentelor asumate de Republica Moldova în procesul de implementarea a Acordului de Asociere la Uniunea Europeană asupra cadrului de reglementare al protecției proprietății intelectuale, dar și procedurile, costurile și strategiile disponibile de înregistrare a obiectelor de proprietate intelectuală, etc.

Ne bucură interesul mediului de afaceri și al factorilor de decizie fată de subiectul protecției prietății intelectuale în contextul implementării acordului de asociere a Republicii Moldova la Uniunea Europeană, acest lucru fiind demonstrat de numarul mare de participanti (cca 90 persoane).

IPR Youth Seminar (Balti)
On October 16, 2020, starting with 13.00, the Association of Legal Culture Henri Capitant Moldova organized the seminar „European Union and Intellectual Property Protection” for young people in Balti.
The host of this event was the State University „Alecu Russo” from Balti (USARB), being represented during the event by Dr., associate professor. Valentina Pritcan, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations, which opened the event.
During this seminar, the more than 40 young people benefited from comprehensive information about the European Union – the most emancipated union in the world, the stages of European integration and EU creation, the role and place of the EU in the global economy, the EU institutional framework, EU policy in the field protection of intellectual property, EU-Moldova relations, as well as the role of the EU in promoting European and international standards in the regulation of intellectual property rights in the Republic of Moldova.
This seminar was moderated by Dr. Rodica Crudu, coordinator of the EUPROIN project, who was also a trainer with her colleague, Dr. hab. Olesea Plotnic, Secretary General of the AO Henri Captain Moldova.
The information presented during this seminar made it possible to achieve the objectives set, namely:
1) Increasing the level of information of young people in the Republic of Moldova on European integration, EU policy in the field of intellectual property protection, the purposes of protection of intellectual property rights (IPR) and their awareness of the need to combat unfair competition and counterfeit products;
2) Increasing the capacity of young people to make the right choice and to raise their knowledge in the field of IPR
3) Inspiring young people to be innovative and generate ideas on IPR-protected business plans
4) Creating a platform for discussion and exchange of views on the main challenges of European integration and identifying ways to promote the Europeanization of the Republic of Moldova, etc.

Training pentru tineri în domeniul proprietății intelectuale (Balti)
În data de 16 Octombrie 2020, începand cu ora 13.00, Asociația de Cultură Juridica Henri Capitant Moldova a organizat seminarul „Uniunea Europeană și Protecția Proprietății Intelectuale” pentru tinerii de la Bălți.
Gazda acestui eveniment a fost Universitatea de Stat „Alecu Russo” de la Bălți (USARB), fiind reprezentată în cadrul evenimentului de către Dna dr., conf. univ. Valentina Pritcan, prorector pentru cercetare și relații internaționale, care a și deschis evenimentul.
În cadrul acestui seminar, cei peste 40 de studenți ai USARB ai beneficiat de informații cuprinzătoare despre Uniunea Europeană- cea mai emancipata uniune în lume, etapele de integrare europeană, rolul și locul UE în economia globală, cadrul institțional al UE, politica UE în domeniul protecției proprietății intelectuale, relațiile UE-Moldova, precum si rolul UE în promovarea standardelor europene și internaționale în reglementarea drepturilor de proprietate intelectuală în Republica Moldova.
Acest seminar a fost moderat de către Dna dr. Rodica Crudu, coordonator al proiectului EUPROIN, care a fost și formator alături de colega sa, Dna dr. hab. Olesea Plotnic, secretar general al AO Henri Capitant Moldova.
Informația prezentată în cadrul acestui seminar a permis atingerea obiectivelor stabilite, și anume:
1) Creșterea nivelului de informare al tinerilor Republicii Moldova cu privire la integrarea europeană, politica UE în domeniul protecției proprietății intelectuale, scopurile protecției drepturilor de protecție intelectuală (DPI) și la conștientizarea acestora de necesitatea combaterii concurenței neloiale și a produselor contrafăcute;
2) Creșterea capacității tinerilor de a face o alegere corectă și de a ridica cunoștințele lor în domeniul DPI
3) Inspirarea tinerilor să fie inovatori și să genereze idei cu privire la planurile de afaceri protejate prin DPI
4) Crearea unei platforme de discuții și schimb de opinii cu privire la principalele provocări a integrării europene și identificarea căilor de promovare a europenizării R. Moldova, etc.
